Boteti River – Makgadikgadi National Park, Botswana

Upon your arrival, settle into Meno a Kwena Tented Camp, perfectly positioned to immerse you in the captivating sights and sounds of the Botswana bush. This unique camp is nestled near the Boteti River within the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, an area historically significant as the dwelling ground of some of the first ‘homo sapiens’.

Prepare to witness the second largest zebra migration in the world, as thousands of zebra converge on the river during the dry winter months (May-November) from their summer grazing grounds. Beyond zebra, keep an eye out for enormous herds of oryx, wildebeests, impalas, zebras, elephants, and hippopotamuses along the riverbank, alongside prime bird-watching opportunities including large flocks of flamingos. Experience amazing walking safaris and utilize a unique floating animal hide for unparalleled wildlife viewing right in front of camp. A profound highlight is the San cultural experience: partake in a bushman walking experience, developing intimate relations with people from the Ju! Hoansi clan village of Xai Xai, gaining deep insight into their ancient hunter/gatherer way of life.

Full-day game drives within the Makgadikgadi National Park allow you to search for the park’s diverse species, with picturesque riverside lunches often accompanied by elephants and antelope. The fascinating contrasts between the Boteti River and the arid national park make this a truly indispensable part of your Botswana safari

Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana

Your journey continues with a transfer from Meno a Kwena to Maun International Airport, recognized as Botswana’s tourism capital and the primary gateway to the Okavango Delta. From Maun, enjoy a short inter-camp flight to Oddballs Airstrip before being transferred to Delta Camp. This exceptional camp is situated on a beautifully palm-studded island within the very heart of the Okavango Delta, a designated premier wilderness area known for its crystal-clear channels, lagoons, sweeping floodplains, and countless islands.

The Moremi Game Reserve, covering over 4,871 square kilometers of pristine wilderness with its varied terrain of savannah, winding waterways, and dense forests, ranks as one of Africa’s most beautiful reserves. Each chalet at Delta Camp is assigned its own private guide, a “man of the swamp” born and raised in the area, who becomes your personal expert for exploring this rich region. Engage in thrilling guided walks and serene mokoro excursions (traditional dug-out canoes) through the intricate floodplains and channels, focusing on peace and tranquility while discovering an incredibly wide spectrum of wildlife.

Keep an eye out for large herds of buffalo, wildebeest, and zebra, alongside rarer species like the sitatunga and lechwe antelope, and formidable predators such as lion, cheetah, and packs of wild dog in the open grasslands. The birdlife here is also prolific, boasting most of Botswana’s 550 recorded bird species. Guests are actively encouraged to visit the local village, home to the guides, fostering authentic cultural interaction

Located in the pristine Kazuma Forest Reserve within the Chobe region, this remote safari camp offers an authentic African wilderness experience, bordering both Chobe National Park and Zimbabwe’s Hwange National Park. This impressive landscape spans thousands of hectares, featuring expansive grasslands, natural pans, and Mopane tree forests, making it an ideal habitat for abundant wildlife including wildebeest, buffalo, antelope, sable, giraffe, zebra, lion, and leopard. Notably, numerous herds of elephants frequently visit this reserve as it is idyllically positioned in an elephant corridor.

At Camp Kuzuma, you can observe these magnificent elephants directly from the large wooden deck as they meander to the muddy waterhole in front of your accommodation. Experience both game walks and half-day game drives within the 11,000-hectare private concession, led by expert guides.
